Now, as always, we are very proud to be your Lincoln dealers in Detroit here at Crest Lincoln. Being in such a historic auto-making town and in the midst of a complete revitalization of the Lincoln lineup, there’s no better time than now to dream about the future of Lincoln vehicles like the upcoming Lincoln Aviator.
The Lincoln Aviator isn’t entirely new, however. It was a nameplate from 2003 to 2005, when it was cut from production.
According to Car Scoops, the new Lincoln Aviator SUV, recently presented at the New York Auto show, has lots of promise as the first-ever Lincoln three-row hybrid SUV. This plug-in hybrid will incorporate a strong and efficient turbocharged engine, most likely a V6, in addition to electric motors.
As a rear-wheel drive vehicle (with all-wheel drive option available), this model will be clean and elegant like the Lincoln Navigator, but in a smaller form. We can expect a luxurious interior and rich colors for the outside with an aeronautical design theme. Three rows of seating will make it an all-around family vehicle, but with extra luxurious touches.
When it comes to new tech, it will likely have a large visual display with the smartphone-based SYNC® system and other driver-assist technologies. While this model doesn’t go on sale until sometime next year, we have a feeling it will inspire other unique new Lincoln cars for years to come.
“We believe Aviator’s elegant design, state-of-the-art technology and refined plug-in hybrid option will draw even more clients to the Lincoln showroom,” said Lincoln president (and Ford marketing chief) Joy Falotico, “including families who are looking for three-row capability.”
Like Falotico pointed out, this model will certainly expand the Lincoln customer base, and we can’t wait to see some new faces at our dealership once this awesomely efficient vehicle arrives.
